Female** counselor needed to assist four Silver Spring women who have developmental disabilities. You start Friday at 4:00 p.m. and stay at the apartment until Sunday at 5 p.m.  Weekends are approximately 35 paid hours and you work every other weekend.

While on duty, you help with the running of the household, assist with personal needs, give or supervise medications, plan and carry out social and recreational events, liaise with families of residents, document services, etc.  Sleeping overnight is not paid; however, if you need to get up at night to tend to the individual, you are paid accordingly.

Pay and benefits: This position starts at 10.25/hour and does include some benefits including paid sick and annual leave after a year, paid training, training bonuses, vacation reimbursement of $500 after 2 and 5 years, time-and-a-half for holiday work, dental insurance, etc.

Requirements:

1. Several years human services experience, preferably with adults who have developmental disabilities. **Because you are sharing living space and assisting with personal care, we need a female counselor for this location.

2. Valid driver's license, at least three years driving experience, 2 or fewer violations on current record.

3. Commitment to completing training regimen of approximately 50 hours; classes may be a combination of evening, weekends, and during the day.

4. Good interpersonal skills and ability to form positive relationships with clients, families, co-workers and the community.
